If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure for a revolting surprise. That’s because Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes are being performed at the Oxhey Woods Sculpture Trail.
South Oxhey Drama Centre, whose members are from age four to 14, has recently performed extracts of its performance at the Watford Live Festival, and the group is confident that you will enjoy its performance in the woods.
A parody of traditional folk tales including Cinderella, Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood, Roald’s re-interpretations of these well-known fairy tales feature some surprising endings that take the place of the traditional happily-ever-after.
The drama group focuses on learning new theatre and drama skills, making friends and building confidence. The ethos is placed firmly on being all-inclusive and providing a place to nurture each individual child’s talents in a safe and welcoming environment.
- Oxhey Woods Sculpture Trail, The Woods, Northwood on Sunday 14th July at 2pm. Details: facebook.com/SouthOxheyDramaCentre
