The launch of Hertsmere Connect took place on Tuesday, attended by 130 local businesses.

The event, at Elstree Studios, marked the beginning of a chamber of commerce for Hertsmere, to help support local businesses and boost the economy.

The council has joined with Watford Chamber of Commerce to create Hertsmere Connect as part of a plan to enhance economic regeneration.

At the meeting Roger Morris, the managing director of Elstree Studios, talked about the huge success of Elstree Studios and the benefits of being based in Hertsmere.

Seamus Quilty, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Economic Development, said: "We hope to see Hertsmere Connect develop and flourish as the conduit between the Council and local business to ensure we work together for the collective good of our local communities.

"The Council are very pleased to be working with Watford and West Herts Chamber of Commerce to launch here today Hertsmere Connect - our very own local link to businesses.

"We look forward to engaging and supporting existing business in Hertsmere and to attract new investment in the area through Hertsmere Connect."
