A personal trainer from Kings Langley found his work had followed him home after his hometown was rebranded as part of a tie in with a television programme.

The village has changed its name to Kings Landing, the capital of Westeros from TV’s Game of Thrones, to mark the release of the third series on DVD.

Dylan Jones, a postural correction and body conditioning specialist from Kings Langley, worked with actor Kit Harington who plays Jon Snow in the series to get him into shape for his role.

Mr Jones said: "His agency was looking for a personal training company to get him ready.

"The fitness programme was based on an intense strength and conditioning programme to get him in shape, to make him look like he was a warrior.

"We used lots of conventional and old school techniques, some complex Olympic-style weight lifting and kettle bell training, and a series of intervals to get him in shape.

"He was really good to work with, he was so geared up and diligent with everything that we told him which made things a lot easier."

Mr Jones said after working with the actor for six days a week for two months, he had become a fan of the show himself.

He added: "So many people fail or take too long to achieve the results they want because they are working on the wrong areas or doing things in the wrong order.

"Having a bespoke programme is key to fast, fat burning results, ensuring you get the body of your dreams".

The television series Game of Thrones is an adaptation of the George R.R. Martin novel saga entitled A Song of Fire and Ice.

The character Jon Snow is the illegitimate son of the Lord of Winterfell, Eddard Stark.

He joins the Night’s Watch, an army tasked with defending the northern realm from marauding raiders.

The soldiers of the watch man "the wall", a gigantic ice barrier separating the land inhabited by the wild men of the north.

Kit Harington said: "I worked hard to get into the best shape for my latest role in just eight weeks with Dylan Jones.

"He designed an intense strength and conditioning programme and nutrition supplement plan to increase my lean muscle mass."
