Watford's mother and baby charity shop is celebrating its first birthday.

Those behind the Alternatives Watford Pregnancy Crisis & Support Centre have declared the shop a great success and thanked the dedicated team of 15 volunteers who give their time and skills to support the customers and clients.

The shop, based at 15 Clarendon Road (directly opposite the Palace Theatre), stocks a wide range of clothes, items, toys and books for mum-to-be, babies and children up to the age of 5-6 years.

All the items are checked for quality and prices kept reasonable.

Angela Such, manager, said: "Everyone who comes in thinks the shop is a great idea for families.

"We are so thankful for all the very generous people who donate items to us - not one day has gone by without some sort of donations coming in which is truly wonderful.

"If you have never been to the shop please do pop in, we would love to see you."

Opening hours are Tuesdays to Fridays, 9.30 - 4.30pm, and a Crisis and Support centre offering a wide range of services including pregnancy testing, pregnancy crisis support, on-going support throughout pregnancy, miscarriage support, post abortion support and postnatal depression counselling is available.
