Watford FC fans recognised those who lost their lives in the First World War this afternoon with a foil display that covered the whole of the Rookery Stand at Vicarage Road Stadium.
The display, which included 6,800 foils, was created by Hornets supporters’ group The 1881.
The club assisted with its creation, which was part of Watford’s annual ‘Remembrance Matchday’, and the cost of around £500 was paid for by the Golden Boys’ players.
It was planned during the course of several months and members of the group started laying out the display at the stadium last night before they returned this morning with around 100 more volunteers to complete the preparations.
A local 14-year-old musician played 'The Last Post' and 'The Rouse' on the cornet during the display, which took place just before today’s match with Millwall.
You can watch a video of the remembrance display taking place below.
