A Bushey teenager who embarked on a “selfish campaign” to rape two teenagers and a woman has been jailed for ten years.

Jordan Hubbock, of Scottswood Close, was sentenced to ten years in a young offenders institution at St Albans Crown Court on Friday.

The 19-year-old was found guilty of raping three people - aged 15, 17 and 21 – between November 2011 and December 2013.

Hubbock was also handed 18 weeks in a young offenders’ institution after being found guilty of sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl in November 2011 and a further 14 days after assaulting a 16-year-old girl in January 2012, giving her a black eye, to run concurrently. He will also have to complete the sexual offenders programme.

Judge Michael Baker QC told Hubbock it was a “selfish campaign to get your own way”. He said Hubbock “targeted” people who he thought would consent and when they said no “you forced yourself on them”.

The court heard how Hubbock, who was 16 when his campaign of abuse began, would rely on the victims to be “too embarrassed to pursue the matter”.

St Albans Crown Court heard how one of the girls had been bullied, both “physically and emotionally” by a group of girls “as a result of telling people” about the allegations.

Simon Ash, prosecuting, summarised the impact on another victim. He told the court: “She did not have support from her family and she was living in care.

“She said that what had happened has had an adverse effect on her and she talks of self harm and suicide.

“She feels she has become distrustful of people following the rape and said she feels disgusting and dirty.”

Nerida Harford-Bell, defending barrister said his client “displays a most unusual amount of insight and remorse”.

He added Hubbock “broke down” and said “this is a young man who has had no support”.

A psychiatric report, prepared by Dr Mark Slater, identified Mr Hubbock as an “ongoing risk” to women and diagnosed him with emotional instability disorder.
