Three Young Enterprise teams from Immanuel College scooped several awards in the Young Enterprise trade fair at Intu Watford shopping centre on Sunday, January 23.

The teams, Craft Club, Opus and UGrow from the Bushey College were competing against teams from other Hertfordshire schools.

This competition gave the teams an opportunity to design and test their products in public. Each team had to work together to raise funds, source and develop their product, and then to market and advertise it.

Products produced by pupils from Immanuel College included a card-making kit by Craft Club, scrabble art by Opus and UGrow created child-friendly seed kits, which grow weird and wonderful plants such as yellow carrots and black tomatoes.

Judges from the business world awarded prizes and all three teams from the college won an award.

Craft Club won the award for Best Trade Stand, Opus was awarded the Best Customer Service prize and UGrow scooped two awards for Most Innovative Product and Best Overall Company.

Nathan Conn, Joint Managing Director of UGrow said: "We are so happy to have won the Best Overall Company award. Through Young Enterprise we have learned so much about setting up a business, and look forward to growing and improving our business in the future."
