A by-election has been called after a Watford councillor elected to stand down.
Ian Brandon has vacated his Callowland Ward seat on Watford Borough Council and a by-election will be held alongside a poll to elect one councillor in each of the 12 wards on the same day as the General Election.
Watford Borough Council’s Elections Manager Gordon Amos said: “The important thing to remember is that every decision that’s made – be it the council or the government – affects us all individually.
"Take the opportunity to register to vote today.”
Polling cards will be sent out to residents across the town at the weekend, alongside an application form for those residents wishing to vote by post.
Visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote to register to vote. If your name has changed, email elections@watford.gov.uk or ring 01923 278369.
Residents have until Monday, April 20 to register to vote, and until Tuesday, April 21 to apply for a postal vote.
- This story was corrected on Tuesday, March 17. The Green Party said it is still to name a parlimentary candidate to stand in Watford on May 7.
