The parents of a baby fighting a rare form of brain cancer are holding a fundraising meal and raffle.

Delilah Read was diagnosed with high risk stage 4 neuroblastoma with the MYCN gene present, a cancer which mostly affects children under five and develops from nerve cells, at the beginning of December.

Her mother, Dannielle Tocker, of Plantation Road, Bushey set up a campaign in January to raise awareness of the condition.

Doctors first found a lump in Delilah's stomach, which measured 11cm x 7.7cm and she was also diagnosed with cancer in her bone and bone marrow.

Since December, Delilah has undergone chemotherapy and had an operation.

Ms Tocker said: "Since the Watford Observer last reported on Delilah she has improved significantly - the tumour has shrunk to 3cm and the cancer in her bone has gone.

"She is doing really well."

The fundraising meal, which coincides with Delilah's first birthday, is part of the campaign to continue to raise awareness of her condition as well as money for future treatments.

It will take place at the Indian Sizzler II restaurant in St Albans Road, Watford on March 31 at 7pm and costs £15 per person. For more information email dannielletocker@yahoo.co.uk
