Parents struggling with their children’s use of electronics can get a different perspective on things at a workshop being held at St Mary’s Church Hall in Watford at 7pm on Tuesday next week.

The workshop, run by local youth charity Signpost, is part of a programme supported by Carers in Herts and Hertfordshire County Council as part of “Feeling Good Week”, which aims to promote young people’s mental health.

More than 200 parents have already attended similar workshops at local secondary schools, including St Clement Danes, Queens’ and St Michael’s.

Signpost Manager William Allen explained: “Games and Social Media are the greatest source of conflict in many families. A lot of parents feel lost and isolated on the topic.

“Parents report that the two hour workshop helps them feel better connected with other parents and challenges them to rethink how to approach the problem.

"Most report that they will go home with fresh strategies to take a more reasoned and supportive approach with their teenagers. Our hope is this will provide a significant boost to young people’s wellbeing in the Watford area.”
