Due to the pain & stiffness of my earth vehicle ie: body, it takes a while to get everything moving in the morning before I’m able to get out of bed, so while I lie there doing my best Frankenstein impression I often amuse myself with random life questions like, while people tuck into their chocolate eggs I wonder how many know Why Good Friday was called Good Friday & not Ruuuuubish Friday Or Mediocre Friday?
Well, It’s called “Good Friday” because it’s the day the son of God was flogged, ordered to carry his own cross and then crucified……….Er, what’s good about that? With anything that’s billions of years old everyone has their own beliefs and take on things, for some it’s thought it was actually called “God Friday” as a mark of remembrance & respect and then over time it got hijacked and changed to “Good Friday” as way of celebration of a holy day.
An added bit of info for those that weren’t aware, Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter and is called so because it celebrates Jesus arrival into Jerusalem for the Jewish festival of Passover and crowds of people lined the streets and waved branches from Palm trees. As for the chocolate?....Well it was the egg that actually came first and started life without any chocolate, the giving of eggs at Easter celebrates new life, just as when they were cracked open they stood for the empty tomb where Jesus was resurrected…..What! No smarties? Do you like to celebrate Easter in the traditional sense, or is it just about chocolate eggs to you?
I believe in god without religion, so I pray, I just prefer to do it without a label and as for chocolate? I’ve ditched it in the pursuit of acquiring an awesome body..…I can feel a belly laugh coming on.
