If you’re sat comfy with your coffee and cornflakes I’ll begin?...although please try to crunch quietly.  So, it’s been an eventful week, well, for someone with ME that is. Having uploaded my latest track TEARS to the BBC I had an email a few days later  from producer Ollie Bayliss inviting me as music artist Mama Chill on to Nesta McGregors Sunday night show…

Planning to go anywhere no matter how local when you have ME can be like planning a major expedition.

The email said I would need to be there for 8.50 pm and going on the airwaves at 9pm, and my first thought was to email back and ask if I could come in my Pj’s.

             Watford Observer:

The days Pre illness  where a night out  often didn’t even start til  10.30 pm suddenly seemed a lifetime away , and  a reminder of  how quickly Life & things can change....

Come Sunday I was so exhausted but still determined to make it , opportunities like this dont come along every day & it was a great platform not just musically but to try and raise some awareness about the illness, about The team Lets Do It For ME and the Charity Invest In ME.

To summon up enough  fake energy for the hour required including the journey, I drank copious amounts of coffee, slapped my cheeks and stuck my head under cold water….. there’s nothing like determination to spur you on.

            Watford Observer:

And so I made it, a chilled interview thoroughly enjoyable but for the fact that due to short term memory loss I kept saying “Er…Erm”  in fact if I had a pound for the amount of  “Er, Erms” I managed to fit in such a short space of time I’m sure I  could’ve funded Fish & chips for all of you Watford Observer Readers.

        Watford Observer:

But thankfully feedback has been positive and even though I’ve been paying the consequences ever since which is sadly what happens with ME, I’m just amazingly grateful at having made it       Watford Observer:

The next morning my good friend Doug Johnson who I can always rely on to make me smile sent this link to

“ 16 things people in chronic pain want you to know “  seeing as it was very apt I thought I’d share it with you. http://www.thepainrelieffoundation.com/patient-perspectives/want-you-to-know/

From the moment I was aware I was in the world at around the age of four,  I knew I wanted to make music which is a pretty normal profession really, so I’m always intrigued at other peoples choices. For instance the other day a woman was talking about how her granddaughter was desperate to be a horse dentist. Another lady creates art out of tea bags, her latest piece took 20, 000 tea bags, And I wonder what makes someone grow up wanting to be a  gumologist? That’s someone who tests the chewiness of chewing gum & bubble gum, I’m sure you  wont be surprised to know that the job includes blowing lots of bubbles.

Then there’s Cup sitting?  & I’m not talking about a mug of Horlicks, It involves those big shiny silver trophy Cups that sports teams and individuals win, some of them are worth so much money that they have to be chaperoned at all times to keep them safe . What makes someone grow up thinking I want to be a………….?   I’m sure you can come up with something to fill in the blank?

One of the best jobs surely has to be a luxury bed tester?  a young student from Birmingham is being paid £1000 for a months work that involves testing out all the beds in a company’s showroom and then blogging about them. So What job would you love to do?  Maybe you’re already doing it?  Let me know in comments & the reason why?

Back to local news and more pleasurable jobs, like a two hour Heritage horse and carriage ride around Cassiobury park, not that I’ll be driving you’ll be pleased to know…or talking for that matter, but I have booked my dad and step mum onto the event in May,  & there’s more dates in September. I’m not sure if there’s any places left but if you’re interested, you can contact Debbie Brady on 01923 278972 or email: deborah.brady@watford.gov.uk.

Er…Erm……….well that’s me done for this week, so until next week, Stay Blessed, Back Before Elvis XXX
