The new opening times for Watford's market have been announced.

From Tuesday, April 21, the downstairs traders will no longer open on Wednesday, but the upstairs food court and stalls on The Parade will continue as normal.

From Tuesday, June 2, the downstairs stalls will not open on Wednesday or Thursday but will be open on Sundays, with the upstairs and stalls in The Parade continuing to trade Tuesday to Sunday.

New Watford Market management said the decision had been reached after listening to feedback from the traders, the council and customers.

It is hoped that signage improvements, marketing and more day stalls in the market will improve the experience for visitors and traders alike.

The non–food traders will move to a four-day week, which will include Sundays on a trial basis from Tuesday, June 2, to November.

The upstairs food traders and stalls on The Parade will continue to open from Tuesday to Saturday, and on Sundays from Tuesday, June 2.

The opening times will extend slightly with the market being open from 9am to 6pm Tuesday to Saturday and from 11am to 5pm on Sundays.
