Macmillan Cancer Support brought their Time to Choose General Election campaign to the streets of Watford this week.
Representatives from the charity, who visited the town in their campaign bus, urged people in Watford to pledge their support for Macmillan’s campaign to make cancer a top election priority.
During the visit on Monday, April 13, Macmillan representatives spoke to people about the issues they want to see the next government address and offered them the opportunity to be photographed supporting the campaign.
The charity also hosted a cake with candidates event at Holy Rood House, Exchange Road, in the morning, where Watford's election candidates met with people affected by cancer and representatives from Macmillan to discuss key cancer issues.
The charity is calling on political parties to commit to early diagnosis, health services that ensure all patients are treated with the highest levels of dignity and respect and which support staff to do this.
It also wants to make it possible for each person to die in their place of choice.
Laura Keely, campaign manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "If we want to see cancer care improve under the next Government, we must use every opportunity to make our voices heard. And this General Election provides the people of Watford with exactly that opportunity.
"It was great to see so many visitors to our campaigns bus and we look forward to seeing how people take the campaign forward by talking to their local candidates about the importance of cancer care."
