A moving memorial service of hymns and readings took place at St Luke's Church, Langley Way, Watford, to remember patients who had been cared for by Peace Hospice Care.

The stirring ceremony on Sunday, April 19, was attended by the friends and family of patients and aimed to reflect the hospice's holistic approach to not only look after patients but also provide services to support relatives and friends.

The reading out of the names of loved ones followed by the lighting of candles provided an opportunity for quiet reflection. Peace Hospice Care Spiritual Care coordinator, Jason Demant said: 'The service was led by Rev Angela Milton and was a beautiful and moving occasion.

"A highlight of the service was the reading of names of those to be remembered and the lighting of individual candles in memory of loved ones. We are so grateful to St Luke's for hosting this service each year.

"It provided a comfort and peace for those who attended, and a chance to be still and remember."

Peace Hospice Care has several annual memorial events for all faiths and backgrounds and also for relatives and friends.
