A 25-year-old man from Bushey hanged himself whilst his parents were on holiday, an inquest heard.
Graham Angell, of Ash Hill Close, was found dead in the garage of his parents house by police officers on July 7.
The inquest was held at Hertfordshire Coroner’s Court on Tuesday.
The court heard that Mr Angell’s brother Thomas was the last person to see him alive, the night before his body was found.
He did not suspect anything was wrong, but the next morning found a suicide note in the kitchen.
He called Mr Angell's girlfriend, who was supposed to meet him to discuss a mortgage, and then called the police.
PC Goding and PC Hawkins attended the house and at first suspected Mr Angell's may have taken his father's motorbike. They searched the garage and found his body.
Paramedics also attended and confirmed he had died at the scene.
Coroner Edward Thomas said: "The mental records did not show anything of significance that could have been picked up."
He recorded the verdict as Mr Angell took his own life.
He added: "The note was addressed to his brother making it clear that he loved his family but felt that he needed to die.
"I am satisfied that he knew what He was doing and that he wanted to die."
