A benefits cheat from Rickmansworth wrongly claimed more than £92,000 over a seven year period.
Greta Ure, of Goral Mead, pleaded guilty to three charges of benefit fraud after claiming £92,427.
Ure was sentenced to eight months custodial sentence, suspended for 18 months concurrent on each offence.
She has also been ordered to undertake 150 hours of unpaid work after wrongly claiming housing benefit, council tax benefit, income support and jobseeker’s allowance.
Three Rivers’ lead member for resources, Cllr Matthew Bedford, said: “This was taxpayers’ money and it should rightfully have been spent on Council services in the community. All the money must now be repaid to the District Council.
"We have a team of investigators working full-time across Watford and Three Rivers and we do not hesitate to prosecute. Residents can telephone or email us in confidence if they have any suspicions that a neighbour or colleague is committing benefit fraud.”
