A boxer from Watford is set to hit the small screen after being cast in a new reality television show.

Stacy Dunn, 38, will tell his story as one of the main characters in ‘Unorthodox’ which follows six fighters in the run up to a major live show.

Since being cast, Mr Dunn has been training intensively and travelling across the country to gain experience since being cast.

He said: “I am really excited to be apart of the show and I think I have a lot to offer.

“Yeah I have done things in my life I’m not proud of, but that doesn’t make or mould my tomorrow.

“Boxing has always been my passion, it’s part of my life like a limb and it’s time to inspire others by my story.

“There is a lot more to me than most people know and I hope to show that on camera, along with my banter character.

“I am like Marmite you either love me or hate me. I think this show will open the public’s eyes to a life of a boxer and I for one will definitely be an eye opener.”

The show is set to air on a web series from December 1 before being broadcast on mainstream television in March.

Mr Dunn will be filmed fighting a northern heavyweight at a show on December 6 at Club Batchwood Manor St Albans.

He said: “I feel in top shape and more ready than I have ever been for the ring, I’m going to class this fight as a warm up, there is no such word as lose where I come from so why even say the word.

“I lost a very dear friend Philip Carey a few weeks back, so this fight is for him. I will walk out of the ring with a victory in his name.”

The show is being hosted by boxing promoter Nina Cranstoun.

She said: “Stacy is a natural talented boxer with a great story to tell, I think the viewer will relate to Stacy as he has faced many life struggles and gone down many different paths.

“Stacy will inspire all ages as he has been there, done it and got the T-shirt.

“Stacy is a big character on this show and I promise you, you won’t forget him.”
