A school business manager has won a national award for the "immeasurable impact" of her achievements at a Watford primary.

Sharon Carlyon has won the HR award in the 2015 National School Business Management Awards for work that has transformed Laurance Haines Primary School's whole community and being an inspiration to others in the profession.

She said: "I am delighted to have won this award. It’s lovely to receive such recognition.

"The school business management role is constantly evolving to meet the changing educational landscape. I am extremely proud to work with such a dedicated team at an amazing school."

Headteacher at Laurance Haines James Roach added: “These two awards are recognition of Sharon’s high quality and tireless work, not only at Laurance Haines School but in the local and wider education community.

"Sharon’s drive to raise the profile of the school business manager role over the last few years has been phenomenal and the impact of her work has had an immeasurable impact on the children, parents and staff at Laurance Haines School.

"It is fitting that Sharon’s outstanding achievements have been acknowledged through these awards.”

Ms Carlyon will receive both of these awards at a ceremony in London on December 11.
