Five pupils from Chessbrook Education Support Centre (ESC) have been helping transform gardens in Watford.

The teens, aged 14 and 15, are currently on the Prince’s Trust programme and are working in partnership with Watford Community Housing Trust on a variety of gardening projects around the community.

Their latest green-fingered ventures included tidying-up plants beds at Edward Amey Hub and Leavesden Green Community Hub.

Tracey Grace from Chessbrook ESC said; “The students and staff have really enjoyed doing these projects and we will come again in the spring time to see how they have grown.”

Anne Sillwood, community hubs officer at Watford Community Housing Trust, has been working in conjunction with the school.

She added: “It was a great experience working with the students of Chessbrook ESC on behalf of the trust and I look forward to seeing the completed gardening projects around the community.”
