The speed limit could be increased along major roads into South Oxhey.

Hertfordshire County Council has drawn up plans to increase the 30mph speed limit in The Woods, Oxhey Drive and Prestwick Road to 40mph.

The speed limit along Sandy Lane is already 40mph but would drop to 30mph before drivers reached homes in either Oxhey Drive or Prestwick Road.

A letter is to be sent out to people to living in the area tomorrow.

It will say: “Hertfordshire County Council is proposing to alter the existing speed limit along The Woods, Oxhey Drive and Prestwick Road.

“The purpose of this scheme is to introduce a speed limit to accurately reflect the drivers speed along this part of the road.”
