This month marks a year since Watford and Abbots Langley kindly re-elected me as MP and I’ve been taking the opportunity to report back.

I held a public meeting in the town centre last Saturday and will hold another in Abbots Langley this Saturday, which are open to all. Please email me for the details if you’d like to come, and if you aren’t able to please take a look at my website and Facebook to see what I have been doing to represent our town.

In a year I’m proud to say that this year we’ve reached a milestone whereby ALL of our secondary schools are rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted – and Westfield school is being completely rebuilt.

We’ve also got a pilot for 30 hours free childcare a week taking place locally, have reached new lows in youth unemployment, crime is down 10% and later in the year a new primary school will open linked to St John’s Church Watford.

The school’s site Clarendon Road has been secured as has the Government funding.

I’ve also continued to run my events such as the Inter-school debating competition in Parliament, evening tours of Parliament and inviting school groups there with Abbots Langley Primary coming for a tour on Monday and more than a dozen other schools this year.

I also held my Reading Poster Challenge, which received over 100 entries, and more than 600 people voted for their favourite.

Last week I presented the prize to Sumayyah from Watford Fields Junior at their Achievement Assembly which was £150 book vouchers for her school and a set of Jacqueline Wilson books to keep for herself.

I am now concentrating on planning is my Watford Jobs Fair on 30th June at the Langley Banqueting Suites on the High Street.

The 60 stalls at my jobs fair are filling up fast, with Corona Energy, John Lewis, Oceana, Warner Bros , J D Wetherspoon, Five Guys Watford, Wilko, Boys & Girls Nurseries, Toad Hall Nurseries, Ideal Insight, Sigma Pharmaceuticals, Corona Energy and the Army signed up to name a few.

Please go to to get your free ticket for 30th June 2016.
