Thieves hide cigarettes in a wheelie bin and drive off on a moped towing the bin behind them.
On December 21 offenders stole a wheelie bin from a front garden in Hallowes Crescent, Watford, at 3.50am.
They then forced entry to Hemel Newsagents and stole a quantity of cigarettes.
The offenders put them in a wheelie bin before making off from the scene on a moped, towing the wheelie bin behind them.
Police have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak with.
Sergeant Neil Canning, from the Rickmansworth Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I would like to speak to the two men pictured as they may be able to assist me with my investigation.
“This is quite an unusual incident so I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area around the time stated to please come forward and speak to me.”
Anyone with information should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on 101.
