Scammell Lorries was a British manufacturer of trucks from 1921 to 1988. Originally based in Spitalfields, Scammell moved to new premises at Tolpits Lane, Watford in 1922. Most famous for designing and manufacturing the '100 Tonner' low loader (only two of which were produced), Scammell also produced the three-wheeled Mechanical Horse to replace horses in delivery services.
