Thieves reversed a van into a supermarket before stealing an ATM machine during a burglary.
Police are appealing for information after the incident took place at Waitrose, in Homestead Road, Rickmansworth, between 11pm and 11.15pm yesterday (Monday, November 27).
The store was closed at the time and no members of staff were injured but a free standing ATM machine within the store was taken during the incident.
The thieves, who were wearing dark coloured bomber jackets, used a white Astra van to gain access to the store.
The vehicle was later recovered by officers nearby.
A scene guard at the store remains in place this morning.
Enquiries are on-going and anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C2/17/3649.
