Watford have confirmed the loan signing of Didier Ndong until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old, who is Sunderland's record signing, has joined with an option to buy if his temporary spell at Vicarage Road is a successful one.

He joined the Black Cats from Lorient in July 2016 and was one of few positives from a miserable relegation season at the Stadium of Light last year.

However, those positives have failed to materialise in the Championship, both for the club and player, and he has barely featured for Sunderland in recent months.

Of his 16 league starts, only one has come since November 5 - and it saw him sent off in a 4-0 defeat to Cardiff City earlier this month.
