Leading businesses in Watford have joined forces to promote the town.

Around 14 organisations, including Watford Borough Council, met on Friday to start a six-month campaign to highlight what the area has to offer.

The Watford Observer has teamed up with companies including Camelot, Warner Bros, Beko, JD Wetherspoon, intu , Watford Football Club, Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust, Watford BID, Imagine, Cortland UK and West Herts College.

Victoria Birch, editor of the Watford Observer, said: “It’s exciting to work with these major businesses, many are household names, and they have all come on board for this very special project.

“Every single day we see for ourselves what a brilliant, vibrant community Watford is and we want to shout about it – even louder than ever before.”

MP Richard Harrington, who is also supporting the initiative, said: “The meeting was a fantastic show of community spirit, with local businesses coming together to work for the better of our town.

“I’m really proud of Watford, and how much progress we’ve seen in the last few years. But this initiative is particularly encouraging as its shows how much more Watford has to offer.”
