Three 13-year-old boys have been cautioned after admitting to attacking and almost robbing a teenager near a park.

The incident occurred in the alleyway leading to Cassiobury Park from Shepherds Road, in Watford, on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 28.

The victim, a 14-year-old boy, was assaulted but none of his property was taken.

The three boys were arrested on Friday, March 2 and interviewed in custody.

All three fully admitted to the crime and they each received a caution.

Detective Sergeant Chris Parperi, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: β€œI want to reassure the public that we will always take reports of these crimes seriously and we will always endeavour to fully investigate the circumstances.

β€œOn this occasion, the boys responsible each received a caution due to it being their first offence. Their parents were also spoken to by officers.”
