An MP delighted pupils as he visited their school for the unveiling of a new playground.

Richard Harrington, cllr Tim Williams and deputy mayor Peter Taylor attended the opening of the Wildwood Den at Kingswood Nursery School, in Briar Road, Watford, on Friday, March 9.

The school managed to raise money to revamp the old playground after receiving donations from past and present parents.

Head teacher Bernice Jackson said: “We wanted to move away from the usual playground equipment and have something that was much more open-ended, would develop problem solving skills, creativity and the imagination of the children.

“Designers Lawrence Trowbridge of Wildwood UK understood exactly what we were looking for and he has designed a structure that will develop the children’s skills on so many levels. We could not be more delighted with the end result.

“We were thrilled to have so many people join in the official opening and the children thoroughly enjoyed showing our visitors how they climb and clamber on and over the den. They took great delight in watching Richard, Peter and Tim have a turn themselves.”
