People are being reminded that today is the last day they can get an early bid rate of a place in a 5k lantern walk that will help raise money for a hospice.

The Peace Hospice Care, based in Watford, will be holding its second Nightlight Walk at Cassiobury Park on Saturday, July 7.

There will be themed zones this year including a Hollywood Boulevard along the route.

The aim of the Nightlight Walk is to give people the opportunity to remember loved ones they have lost.

Everyone who takes part will be given a Nightlight lantern to decorate and help light the way.

At the end of the route, participants will be invited to place their lantern into a display to create a light sculpture that will shine as a “symbol of remembrance”.

Lisa Rowland, events manager at Peace Hospice Care, said: “Following the success of last year’s Nightlight Walk, we are again creating a fun family event for everyone.

“So, whether you're walking in memory of a loved one, to have fun with friends and family, to be part of the magic, or just to show support for Peace Hospice Care there's something for everyone.

“I’d encourage anyone interested to sign up quickly to ensure they get a place."

Anyone interested in the walk is advised to sign up before Monday, April 30 to get the early bird rate of £18 for adults and £12 for children (under 5s go free).

The rate will increase after today as it will then be £25 for adults and £15 for children.
