Work has started to create a woodland path that will connect a popular park with a primary school.

A 280m gravel path is being built in Goodwood Recreation Ground which will link Nascot Park with Greenbank Road and Holy Rood primary school.

The new path will be open all year for children, parents, dog walkers and residents.

Sleeper steps will also be installed to make access from Greenbank Road easier for walkers.

Nascot ward councillor Mark Hofman said: “It’s great to see work progressing on a new walkway, I hope it will encourage more parents to leave their cars at home and walk instead.

“For our it’s an opportunity to easily access the park and its wonderful facilities all year round.”
