Schoolchildren chose to dress up as their “favourite food” to raise money for a major blood charity.
On May 24, children from St Martin’s School in Northwood participated in their “Annual Toddle”.
This year, money raised went toward The Blood Fund, the Imperial Health Charity’s fundraising appeal for the haematology department at Hammersmith Hospital.

The department is renowned for its research and care for people with blood disorders including leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, sickle cell disease and haemophilia.
In recognition, the schoolchildren decided the theme for the day was their “favourite food”.
Staff and pupils wore colourful costumes all day and after lunch the boys made their way to the track to begin their Toddle.

Having been paired with a Year 7 or 8 boy, the “Toddlers” went around the track four times negotiating various obstacles, collecting a sticker after each lap.
All boys were given a medal and had their photograph taken before enjoying an ice-lolly.
Total funds raised for the charity was more than £900.
