The England football team received a boost in support last night ahead of their match against Belgium.
An England flag was raised at the Three Rivers District Council office yesterday (June 28) ahead of the team’s last group stage game against the Belgians.
Council leader, Cllr Sara Bedford, said, “In recent times the flag of St. George has been taken by far-right groups, so I think it’s important to show that the flag can be flown by anyone in England.
“Having a pride in your community and the country you live in should not hold any racist or other unsavoury connotations”.
England lost to Belgium one nil.
