A petition has been launched demanding action on a road that is described as the “worst in the area”.

Cllr Peter Kloss, who represents Park ward in Watford says that Parkside Drive, which runs along the back of Cassiobury Park, has been left to “deteriorate” and is now in a “shocking state”.

The newly-elected Lib Dem councillor said: "This is a well-used road, but its condition has been allowed to deteriorate to the point where it is one of the worst in the area. I am determined to get the county council to do something about it.

“In order to show the strength of residents’ views I went door to door with a petition calling for Hertfordshire County Council to intervene and resurface the road.

“This really can’t be left as it is. We need action now. The petition we have submitted shows the strength of feeling about this.”

The petition received 136 signatures.

Cllr Kloss says the county council is now considering the issue.
