A fire with “twenty-foot” flames was started deliberately in a person’s hedge.
Hertfordshire County Council were called at 7.52pm last night with reports of a fire in Hazelwood Lane in Abbots Langley.
Reports of the fire were posted in an online community forum in which one member said: “We drove past not so long ago and they had something on fire on someones hedge.”
Another comment on social media said: “I must admit the flames were shooting twenty odd feet in the air.”
The council said the fire was listed as deliberate, adding: “This means the fire was intentionally started but does not necessarily mean it was arson.”
A fire crew from Garston attended and the fire was under control by 8.09pm.
