Campaigners are hoping to raise money to turn a historical house into a community hub.

People want to turn Little Cassiobury House in Hempstead Road, Watford, into a community building.

Doreen Meek, the secretary at Little Cassiobury Community Interest Company said: “Little Cassiobury is the best traditional house in Watford, it was built in 1670 and shouldn’t be lost.

“We're desperate to save it and turn it into community use with arts and exhibition space.

It will hold an art sale to raise money for its cause on Saturday, between 11am and 4pm.

The event will coincide with the Heritage Open Day run by the Little Cassiobury Community Interest Company and Watford Borough Council.

Many artists from Watford have donated their work to the Little Cassiobury House for the sale to raise funds for the home.

The event will be held on the grounds of the house and visitors can get an update about restoration work on the house by volunteers.
