It is time to vote for your favourite park.

In July, seven parks in Hertsmere were awarded green flag status and now you can vote for the one you like best.

King George Recreation Ground in Bushey, Aberford Park in Borehamwood, Oakmere Park and Parkfield in Potters Bar, and Mary Forsdyke in Bushey Heath were all recognised in the Green Flag Awards while Fisher Field Nature Reserve in Bushey received a special green flag community award and Bushey Rose Garden was awarded green heritage site accreditation.

The award scheme is now offering the public the opportunity to have its say and decide which of the UK’s parks and green spaces deserve the People’s Choice Award.

Cllr Seamus Quilty, responsible for environment at Hertsmere Borough Council, said: “We recognise that quality parks and green spaces are important to local people and essential to healthy, happy communities, so we work hard to maintain these special places where residents can come together to rest, relax, play, exercise and have fun.

"Our parks offer a wide range of recreational activities to local people of all ages and are free to use.”

To vote, visit www.greenflagaward.org and find your favourite park on the winners map.

Voting closes on September 30 and the top ten sites will be announced on October 16.
