In a recent Watford Observer article (‘Railing on Watford ring road taken more than nine months to replace’, August 16) Ringway claimed that they could not replace a missing pedestrian guard rail on Beechen Grove that was reported by Liberal Democrat councillor Steve Bolton in December last year as it would “require complex traffic management and closing of a lane on the ring road” and it would be “uneconomical to undertake the work independently”.

Ok even if they did require to close part of the ring road then the question must be asked why they could not have done this during one of the 19 road closures that have been planed and taken place this year (mainly at night) including four of them by Ringway including two at this very location in July?
Ringway’s comments to the Watford Observer were at best misleading and worse show the even in their own company they cannot co-ordinate the works needed, no wonder we have so many potholes unfixed!
