It is time to vote for the nation’s best park.

A total of 12 award-winning parks in Watford were recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme, and now you can vote for the one you think is the best.

The 12 sites are Cassiobury Park, Paddock Road Allotments, Oxhey Park, Harwoods Recreation Ground, Waterfields Recreation Ground, St Marys Churchyard, Callowland Recreation Ground, Cheslyn House and Gardens, North Watford Playing Fields, Goodwood Recreation Ground, North Watford Cemetery and Woodside Playing Fields.

The Green Flag Award Scheme is now offering the public the opportunity to have its say and decide which of the UK’s parks and green spaces deserve the People’s Choice Award.

Watford Mayor Peter Taylor said: “Having 12 Green Flag Award winning parks in our town is a great achievement.

“It is a testament to the hard work of volunteers, Veolia and the council.

“Please vote for your favourite park so that it can get the recognition it deserves.

“Wouldn’t it be great to see Cassiobury Park voted the nation’s favourite park?”

A total of three parks in the Three Rivers District were recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme.

In July, Chorleywood House Estate, Leavesden Country Park and the Aquadrome were given a Green Flag Award.

Councillor Chris Lloyd, lead member for Leisure, said: “We are thrilled to have received three Green Flag Awards again this year.

“We would love our residents to vote knowing how much quality green spaces matter to you and our visitors.”

Paul Todd, Green Flag Award manager, said: “This year 1883 parks and green spaces met the tough standards demanded by our Green Flag Award Judges.

“We want to know which parks the UK public love the most. The People’s Choice award is a chance to show how much your favourite park means to you. If it’s worth shouting about, make your voice heard and vote now.”
