An injured woman who came home from holiday expecting her shopping to be delivered only received a quarter of the groceries – despite shelling out £69.

Michelle Wyatt, of Harris Road, North Watford, decided to order from Asda after hurting her shoulder at the same time that her partner, Simon, was nursing a foot injury.

The pair had just returned from a trip to Venice and wanted to avoid going shopping themselves.

Housebound, it meant they were left with no food until a friend came by to give them some dinner.

Ms Wyatt said: “It’s ridiculous, they couldn’t even deliver basic goods like butter or milk.

“It’s a good thing we are not disabled or vulnerable because we wouldn’t be able to eat and would have been left to starve.

“I’m never going to use Asda again, they left us with no food to eat.”

When she called Asda’s customer services to complain, she was told the store did not have the listed food. She claims that when a friend visited the Asda in Watford that evening, the goods were in fact in stock.

But she has yet to receive any money back for the goods which were not delivered.

She added: “They charged me full price for things they didn’t even give me.

“The stuff was pretty basic, if the store didn’t have them then there was no point in the shop being open.

“When we came back we thought it would all be waiting for us.

“I’m really annoyed that I have to go down there with my friend and get my money back.”

Some of the food on her order included bacon, milk, butter, lettuce and chicken, of which she received no substitutes.

Ms Wyatt has vowed never to use online shopping with Asda again.
