A transport company has announced it will withdraw a bus service and replace it with a new one.

Bus users can expect an “improved” frequency of “certain services” when Arriva replace the 324 with a new 520 service, to take effect on September 30.

The 520 will run between Maple Cross, Rickmansworth, Watford Town Centre, Kings Langley and Hemel Hempstead.

Arriva said customers using the 324 between Watford Town Centre and the Meriden Estate should contact Hertfordshire County Council for more details.

In addition to the replacement, the 500 bus will now run every half hour between Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Tring and Aylesbury. Combined with the new 520 bus, Arriva said this service will provide transport between Hemel Hempstead and Watford every 15 minutes.

The 520 will also provide a new direct link between Hemel Hempstead and Watford General Hospital.

Craig Taylor, marketing manager for Arriva Southern Counties, said: “We always work to keep our routes up to date in line with customer and depot feedback along with our real-time data.

“The changes are being introduced with the aim of making passengers’ journeys as efficient as possible.”
