A leading cinema is on a major recruitment drive in the town.

Cineworld will open its doors in December as part of the new intu Shopping Centre extension, creating up to 60 new jobs.

The cinema will host an open day for prospective employees at the Holiday Inn on Clarendon Road near Watford Junction, on September 29, between 10am and 4pm.

Various part and full-time positions are available, including team leader, and barista roles at Starbucks which will be part of the new cinema.

The new cinema will feature nine state-of-the-art screens showing the latest Hollywood and Bollywood releases, as well as pick ‘n’ mix and Baskin Robbins ice cream counters.

Jay Zaman, Cineworld Watford general manager, said: “We are looking forward to bringing a new cinema to the new extension of the intu Shopping Centre in Watford and generating career opportunities in the local area.
