A language teacher has scooped an award for the fifth year in a row.

Silvia Rocchetto, who has been heading one of the most successful businesses under the licence La Jolie Ronde network for nearly ten years, has been honoured at the What’s On 4 Kids Awards which took place in the City of London on October 3.

Earlier in the year, parents and children were asked to nominate their favourite after-school and weekend activities, and 70,000 votes were recorded.

Mrs Rocchetto triumphed once again in the category for ‘best national licensed activity for five-12-year-olds’.

She, alongside colleagues, teaches French and Spanish classes, under her business Language Play, to more than 200 children a week at centres, primary schools, and nurseries, across Chorleywood, Rickmansworth, and parts of Buckinghamshire.

Following the award, Mrs Rocchetto said: “Winning this award for the fifth year in a row brings with it a great deal of pride. 2018 was an exceptional year with voting very fierce across all the categories, right up to the end, so thank you to everyone who voted.

“We are incredibly passionate about teaching languages to young children, so it is great this has been recognised once again this year.

“The younger children start to learn a new language, the better. Children are like sponges and pick up the authentic French or Spanish accent, intonation and pronunciation with ease. With Language Play the emphasis is on “structured fun” and La Jolie Ronde courses have been developed following a tried and tested methodology specifically suited to young children."
