A cancer survivor has braved the shave as part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Mistanne Alexander, 63, was diagnosed with lung cancer in the summer of 2016 but has battled through chemotherapy and surgery and is now in remission.

In late September, Ms Alexander raised money by shaving her hair for Macmillan at the Phillimore community centre in Radlett.

For mother of three Ms Alexander, this was nothing. She has been raising money for charity for years by taking part in marathons and no less than 30 parachute jumps.

“I’m an adrenaline junkie really and I just want to give back and help others. There was always someone at Macmillan who was able to help me when I was in pain and I was supported by my friends and family too.”
