A mother and son who appeared in a viral video that amassed tens of millions of views worldwide have taken part in a second film which aims to combat any negative stigma around children with Down’s Syndrome.

Nisha Soni, 36, and her then four-year-old boy Kush, from Bushey, featured in the viral 50 mums carpool karaoke, where they sang along to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri.

The video was the birth of Wouldn’t Change a Thing, a charity that aims to turn negative perceptions of Down’s Syndrome “a thing of the past”.

Ms Soni and her family jumped at the opportunity to get involved in the latest campaign.

The latest film follows the journey parents take by families who have a child with Down’s Syndrome. It shows the initial trepidation often felt by new parents when obtaining a diagnosis but as the video progresses, the children get older and you see how life blossoms into something special.

Ms Soni said: “We wouldn’t have Kush any other way. Yes we have to go down a different path and there are challenges but we wouldn’t change a thing. Negative perceptions of Down’s Syndrome still exist. These videos have helped however and the feedback has been wonderful.”

Kush, 5, and his parents, Nisha and Hamel, alongside his little sister, appear 2.43 into the film, in their garden.

Kush has also signed up to fashion modelling agency Zebedee which represents adults and children with disabilities.
