As part of our campaign to encourage shoppers to visit Watford Market, we will be profiling some of the traders who could turn out to be one of the town’s best kept secrets.

Watford Borough Council took over the running of the market after the previous operator ran into financial difficulties and although the market has now been tendered out to another company, Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor has pledged to improve the look and feel of the place.

Watford Observer:

We start our campaign with Suren Vis who owns a small sweetshop, ‘Sweets for All’

Sweets for All is run by Suren Vis, a from Watford. He sells a range of yummy treats but is best known with his customers for his selection of old school sweets including strawberry flavoured bonbons, rhubarb and custards, sherbet lemons, as well as a collection of sugar free, gluten free, halal, and most recently American style sweets.

Mr Vis, a huge Hornets fan, says his key motto is customer value.

“This is the cheapest place that you will find sweets”, he says.

“If I get a deal, I’ll pass it onto the customer.

“The range of sugar-free and gluten-free sweets you will not be able to find anywhere else. You can get a proper old school mix too. I’m a small individual business but what I pride myself on is providing personal customer service.”

Watford Observer:

The sweet seller says the market has a great community spirit and what makes them so special is how much care they all show their customers.

You can find Sweets for All on the ground floor of Watford Market.
