A SCHOOL enjoyed a visit from a waste collection company.
Hamstel Infant and Nursery School, Hamstel Road, Southend, had a visit from Veolia, a rubbish collection company operating in Southend.
The students were able to learn about how rubbish is collected as well enjoying trying out the lorry for comfort.
A school spokeman said: "There was a special visitor in the carpark and it was a waste disposal truck called Munch.
"The children learned all about waste and what happens to our recycling.
"We also learned about how when food waste is collected, it is used to make electricity.
"The children enjoyed going into the truck cabin, sitting in the driver’s seat and seeing how the crusher works.
"We want to say a big thank you to the Veolia staff for their time."
