A cinema is to open this winter with a new 270-degree screen – one of only six globally.
Cinema chain, Cineworld, has announced that its new branch in intu, Watford, will open on December 14.
The new cinema will feature nine state-of-the-art screens and include a multi-projection 270-degree screen.
The new Cineworld Watford IMAX cinema will feature IMAX® with Laser, a new method of bringing sharper images and better audio for audiences.
Originally launched in South Korea, Cineworld Watford will be the sixth cinema to install the new ScreenX in the UK.
It uses an array of projectors and with software to blend multiple images into one seamless image extending from the central screen out.
The walls of the ScreenX are covered in a fabric that ensures brightness and colour closely matching the image on the main screen and extend the length of the auditorium.
Cinema fans can take advantage of a range of offers including weekly discounted Movies for juniors for just £2.50 on Saturdays, Sundays and school holidays, as well as the Cineworld family ticket and Student NUS discount.
The cinema will also be available for private venue hire.
