Members of a youth association have been selling poppies in the run up to Armistice Day.
Ahmadi Muslims from Watford who are part of the wider Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) in Hertfordshire were at Brent Cross shopping centre in north London on Sunday fundraising for the Royal British Legion.
In total, 25 young volunteers gave their time to raise money for the poppy appeal which has become an annual initiative for the organisation.
Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Ahmadiyya Musilm community leader, said: “Honouring those who fought to defend and safeguard one’s country is an important principle of Islam and in fact is an important principle of peace.
“As members of the AMYA, we believe that love and loyalty to our nation is part of our faith. We are committed to serving the communities we live and fundraising for the poppy appeal is a wonderful opportunity for us to pursue that goal whilst remembering those who lost their lives during the world wars. “
