A 19-year-old is in a serious condition in hospital after he was stabbed in the town centre.

Armed police were called to The Parade, Watford, yesterday at 5.40pm. Witnesses reported seeing officers in Marlborough Road at around 6.20pm.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

A 17-year-old from Colindale was detained last night while a 19-year-old was arrested by police this morning.

Both are in police custody. 

The stabbing is believed to have taken place in The Parade and a cordon was set up outside Tops Pizza at the Rickmansworth Road end.

There was also a cordon in place near Paddy Power.

Several police cars and an ambulance were parked up close by.

The victim was taken to hospital where his condition is described as “serious but stable”.
